Keep in mind that 1541H is an SAE designation. I can certainly see where it would be applicable to military vehicle use. (Not that none have, just that I don't know.) I suppose there is also the possibility that an OEM could have used 1541H for certain applications as well, but I don't currently know of any specific instances. Plus, having to work within the physical confines of an existing housing and axle tube design means you can only go so much bigger before you are forced to go "better".įor applications requiring even more strength than the 1541H, steels like 4140 & 4340 (chromemoly) are used. Increased mass (larger axle diameter) is the first logical answer compare a passenger car to anything made for abuse (HD truck, tractor, etc.) and that becomes obvious.īut in a performance application a physically larger part also means the penalty of increased weight. This allows a stronger part without making the part physically larger. The deeper the hardening effect, the stronger the axle. For the most part, axles are not hardened completely through (unless we have an alloy steel). Reading between the lines is often dangerous, but simply put, 1541H is a steel with same approximate carbon content as 1040, with added manganese.Īs you suggested, the manganese does allow deeper hardening than carbon alone. The "standard" for OEM axle material was 1040, sometimes possibly 1050. It is widely used in aftermarket axles due to the fact that, properly treated, it can provide about 25% more strength versus the standard 1040. Never worked with the 1541H before, at least not outside the form it was already in (axle).īut I don't see why it wouldn't make a good starting point for further experimentation probably something I need to check into myself. Car chases deserve a negative mention: at times the car’s frame seems to not shield Vito from bullets at all, making it very RNG dependent. The worst instance is found in a specific chapter, where an enemy can spam unlimited molotovs at the protagonist, making that one a very badly designed fight. For instance, in some cases combat will start with Vito standing in the middle of a room like a target dummy – on higher difficulties, it’s only up to luck if he’ll make it to the closest cover in time or not. While these shops can be useful at times, the side chores can be completely overlooked: the main story will always provide more than enough cash for all the guns, ammo, upgrades and clothes one would ever wish for.Ĭertain fights and situations in the main story are unfair or poorly designed. Other than that, it adds a more “interactive” city framework, with gun shops, clothiers, mechanics and more each with their specific function or sales inventory. This second entry in the series tries to expand gameplay by adding side activities, such as reselling stolen cars or robbing shops, in order to make extra cash to spend. However, don’t expect great differences in terms of gameplay from any of them. Depending on completion rate, there may be even 10+ hours of content in these “expansions”, which is almost as much as the main game. “Jimmy’s Betrayal” and “Vendetta” both trace the story of a famed hitman that served all the biggest families – while “Joe’s Adventures” is a series of missions featuring one of the most important side-characters of the main story. ![]() Mafia II offers a good chunk of additional DLC modes, all included in the Definitive version. Definitely a solid story with characters matching its quality, that does not betray the franchise’s legacy. The characters are well developed, especially those closer to the protagonist, which have some extent of growth as the years go by. Mafia II successfully shows how some people are not driven to criminal life by being inherently evil, but rather by sheer necessity (as in Vito’s case) – while in other instances, the opposite can be also seen. The storyline delivers everything expected by a high-tier criminal drama: violence, betrayals, loss – but also good times, sex, booze, gambling, luxury. Those seeking immersive settings will not be disappointed. Music, mannerisms and ways of speaking are coherent with the times (even Italian ones: I can tell being one myself). There is a decent interaction level with the environment (such as buying hot dogs from a cart, for example). Immersion is solid, as citizens will react realistically: for instance, by assaulting Vito after he scratched their car. Empire Bay proves to be a vibrant, beautiful city – even more so in this remastered version with its updated visuals. The atmosphere and setting of 1940s and 50s are recreated beautifully in Mafia II. ![]() ![]() ![]() That’s all Kodamas in The Hollow Fortress. For example, if you only use light armour but have a ton of purple, heavy greaves, you can give them to the evil Kodama for a change at something more useful. This is a good way to swap out useless pieces of equipment that are high level and purple rarity. In my experience, if you give a Kodama a soul core, it will give you another of the same kind, whereas weapons and armour are usually different. This can be a weapon, a piece of armour, a soul core, or a consumable. The Kodama will then pick it up and reward you with a similar item of the same level and rarity. To play ball, you need to go into your inventory and press Triangle to drop an item. Once you’ve interacted with enough of them to learn their language, it becomes obvious they don’t even want to inconvenience you with their request - they just love shiny things. The “something” the evil Kodama want is an item from your inventory. To repeat, you do not have to purify or cleanse the purple Kodama to make them into their green cousins. What to do with Evil Purple Kodama in Nioh 2 It’s also worth noting that the purple evil Kodama do not count towards the list of hidden green Kodama in any given level. Other than the prompt of “It seems to want something”, it’s not clear what you’re meant to do. That's more challenging than death having no consequences, but less punitive than having to restart the whole level. Personally, I think respawning back at a checkpoint with all of the same resources and enemies you had when you hit the checkpoint would be awesome. I don't have hours-long sessions to go for deathless runs (especially for some of the longer and more challenging levels), and yet striving for deathless runs seems like the only way for the player to challenge themselves in the experience. I know you have the option to restart the level if you want to personally enforce a challenge for yourself and check the box at the score screen, but that's also not a realistic option for me. You can die over and over and keep making progress in the level like nothing happened. Because the checkpoints don't respawn enemies, there's no real disincentive for dying. I ran it as a non-steam game with proton 7.0-6, the latest build. I got this off of steam, but I imagine it will work totally fine on steam as well. Natively Supports: Show Minimum Requirements.
